Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have become indispensable tools in modern agriculture, enabling high-resolution data collection, precise input application, and real-time field monitoring. The efficiency of these aerial systems is closely tied to a comprehensive understanding of their aerodynamic behavior. This chapter explores the foundational principles of UAV aerodynamics, with particular emphasis on rotorcraft and fixed-wing platforms commonly deployed in precision agriculture. Core aerodynamic elements such as lift, thrust, drag, and rotor-induced airflow patterns—including downwash—are analyzed in the context of flight stability, maneuverability, and payload delivery. Special focus is given to how aerodynamic interactions affect crop canopies, revealing both advantageous effects, like enhanced pesticide dispersion, and potential drawbacks such as crop stress or structural damage. Environmental factors including wind speed, temperature, and terrain are also examined for their influence on UAV performance in agricultural settings. While UAVs hold the potential to transform agriculture by increasing efficiency, reducing labor, and enhancing sustainability, widespread adoption remains constrained by high initial costs, regulatory barriers, and the need for technical expertise. By linking aerodynamic science with field-level challenges and innovations, this chapter presents a holistic view of UAV integration in agriculture. It highlights how improvements in drone design, autonomy, and data processing will continue to drive their utility in transforming traditional farming into smart, sustainable systems.

摘要
