Effect of Beveled Exit Edge on Burr Formation in Drilling
摘要
Burr is unwanted material usually adhered to a machined surface. Burr formation at the machined edge deteriorates part quality and affects the assembly process negatively. So, control of burr is a must to reduce cost and to increase service life of a product. In the present work, an investigation is carried out by varying feed, environment, drill diameters and exit edge bevel angle. Reduction in burr height and width are tried to obtain based on experimental observations. It may be inferred that by providing exit edge bevel of a work part, burr can be controlled substantially.
