Cocoa is an impotent crop. It has high demand in global market but it has low output in comparison to demand. The cocoa leaf is generally infected by vascular streak dieback (VSD), which spread rapidly. Early detection of such diseases is very important for improving the crop yield and maintaining the productivity. In this proposed article, convolutional neural network has been utilized for the detection of VSD disease in cocoa leaves. The major objective of this research article is to provide suggestions to farmers of cocoa for getting more benefits. The model achieved 99.1% accuracy in 7.48 min only, after using a dataset of 1,200 cocoa leaf images. Such finding shows the capacity of CNN-based methodology in improving the management of diseases in cocoa cultivation.
