Power Consumption and Delay Analysis of Three Multiplier Designs in Digital Signal Processing
摘要
An integral part of digital signal processing (DSP) systems, multipliers play a pivotal role in several applications, such as image processing, filtering, and modulation. In signal analysis and system design, they play a crucial role by multiplying two digital signals, an operation required for many transformations such as convolution and correlation. These multipliers highlight the differences and similarities between array, booth, and modified booth multipliers in terms of area, accuracy, and power. The revised booth multiplier is improving performance dependent on power area and accuracy, so keep that in mind. As for the booth multiplier, however, it lessens the lag time. The multipliers contain the computation mistake, but it has no impact on the DSP applications’ quality.
