Introduction: Why a Humanitarian Critique?
摘要
International humanitarian law is widely perceived as a part of international law seeking to contain the effects of war, however, its problematic foundations and unclear language cannot be overlooked. This introductory chapter tries to explain why it is imperative to critique international humanitarian law. Describing the meaning of critique, it specifies the approaches employed and summarises the overall plan of the book. Thereafter, it briefly explains what every subsequent chapter seeks to offer.
