This chapter attempts to describe the concept of morality as distinct from emotivism and rationalism. The chapter argues for the teleological foundation of morality, as in its absence the moral falls into the circularity of the emotive or the rational, thus cannot provide a functional foundation for the socioeconomic activity. To escape this circularity, the chapter argues that a teleological orientation of morality is necessary, which religions may also provide. Just like the cognitive capacity, the chapter explains, human moral capacity can also be nurtured under necessary conditions.
