Intelligent Traffic Management System for Smart Cities: Real-Time Vehicle Detection Using ESP8266, IR Sensors, and LED Traffic Control
摘要
In urban areas, traffic management is essential for ensuring smooth vehicular movement and pedestrian safety. Traditional traffic light systems often lack adaptability to real-time traffic conditions, leading to congestion and inefficiencies. To address these challenges, an innovative solution leveraging IoT technology has been proposed for an automatic traffic light controller (ATLC) based on vehicle detection. Key features of the ATLC system include low-cost implementation, scalability for deployment across various intersections, and compatibility with existing infrastructure. Furthermore, the integration of Wi-Fi connectivity enables remote monitoring and control, allowing traffic authorities to efficiently manage traffic patterns. The ATLC system offers several advantages over conventional traffic management methods. By reducing congestion and improving traffic flow, it enhances fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and improves road safety. In conclusion, the IoT-based automatic traffic light controller presents a cost-effective and efficient approach to modernizing urban traffic management systems. With its adaptability, scalability, and real-time monitoring capabilities, it has significant potential to optimize traffic flow and enhance urban mobility in future smart cities.
