Exploring Methods of Anaemia Identification Using Haemoglobin Levels for ASEAN Countries

Haemoglobin plays a crucial role in the human body in keeping someone fit and healthy. In developing countries, a huge number of people lack basic health facilities, and the number of accessible doctors is less. Hence, there is a need for low-cost or free healthcare devices. The non-invasive haemoglobin measurement device is one example. It enables measurement without invasion, eliminating the chances of infection. Apart from this, it can be easily used by semi-skilled volunteers. The GPS-enabled device will help tag the location of individuals with their haemoglobin values. The Government can obtain real-time haemoglobin data using this device. The innovation provides a technological solution to a fundamental problem facing the population. It will reach the population via Government health services. The biggest contribution of this innovation is the creation of a Haemoglobin map for the surveyed area. This will be the first of its kind in the country, to the best of our knowledge, with current technology. This innovation will bring a paradigm shift in the policy ecosystem. Government policy can be effectively implemented on the ground, and its impact can be monitored through the real-time map. Haemoglobin measurement can be done without invasive techniques, which can cause infection in infants and pregnant women. This innovation will be a small step towards Digital and Healthy ASEAN.
