Epidemiology, Clinical Features, and Clinical Subtypes in Acute/Chronic and Nonfibrotic/Fibrotic
摘要
There are a limited number of epidemiologic studies in subtypes of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) including hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP). The incidence of ILDs ranged from 1 to 31.5 per 100,000 person-years and prevalence ranged from 6.3 to 71 per 100,000 people. In North America and Europe, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and sarcoidosis were the most prevalent ILDs, while the relative frequency of HP was higher in Asia, particularly in India (10.7–47.3%) and Pakistan (12.6%). Interestingly, the common exposure is a bird-related antigen around the world. It is important to know the trends of incidence and prevalence of HP and the causative agents for daily practice of ILDs.
