Globally, biofuel is gaining a lot of attention as a renewable energy source. Naturally occurring in large quantities, biomass can be converted into various forms of biofuel. Various energy sources create different types of biodiesels, biomethane, bioethanol, bio-oil, and gasoline depending on the kind of conversion procedure employed, like acidic and alkaline prior to treatment, pyrolysis and gasification method, transesterification, fermentation process, etc. Researchers have recently emphasized more environmentally friendly production based on biological methods. This review paper focuses on the methods that are used in the production of Biofuel by taking biomass as input ingredient. It also provides way for future investigations toward the leverage of suitable biofuel. Agricultural biomass is a viable option for energy production, according to previous techno-economic analyses. Bio fuel has many applications in automobile sector.
