Utilizing such clays for resting the foundations is almost impossible without some means of improving the adverse properties. The estimated damage was very expensive to the pavements running over the marine clay sub grades. So considerable changes have to be made in the construction of various coastal and offshore structures. Numerous research works have been carried out on stabilization of marine clay to make them suitable especially as a material for road construction. It is important to use innovative techniques by utilizing local available industrial waste material for the modification and stabilization of deficient soil. This clay, because of their specific physicochemical make-up, subjected to behavioural changes in their ambient environment. By using the quarry dust, a stone crushing industry waste, as replacement to this soil, the engineering properties can substantially enhance. Therefore, the present experimental work is aimed to investigate the utility potential of Quarry dust in stabilizing the marine clay thereby improving its strength and penetration characteristics. The performance of the stabilization can be further enhanced with the use of crumb waste tyre rubber (CWTR), thereby giving a two-fold advantage of improving the clay and also solving the disposal problem.
