As previously discussed, globalization and modernization are a pair of complex relationship. In some cases, they move toward the same directions, while in other cases they run counter to each other. Globalization is the product of mutual openness among countries. Without openness, there can be no globalization. The modernization of a country can be carried out both in an open state and in a closed state. If it is the former, then globalization and modernization are in the same directions; if it is the latter, then globalization and modernization are in the opposite directions. In the past several decades, China’s globalization and modernization are a supplementary and complementary process, because China has realized its modernization under the background of globalization. Likewise, if we hope that continued globalization and modernization in the future will continue to supplement and complement each other, then our modernization need to continue to be carried out in the state of openness.

摘要
