Energy Metrics of Quonset-Type Greenhouse Integrated Thin-Film Photovoltaics Combined with Earth-to-Air Heat Exchanger
摘要
A periodic thermal model of a greenhouse integrated with thin-film photovoltaics (GiTPV) and an earth-to-air heat exchanger (EAHE) has been developed as a green energy building. Thin-film photovoltaics are integrated into the roof of the greenhouse under consideration. The earth-to-air heat exchanger installation is used in this study to evaluate the thermal comfort effectiveness of greenhouse air in India, a developing country. The results indicate that the greenhouse room air temperature becomes 5 °C higher in the winter than the outside air temperature and 17 °C lower in the summer for 0.5 kg/s air mass flow rates of EAHE. The payback period for the investment in the EAHE system is shorter than four years, according to the energy payback time (EPBT) study. For EAHE, the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) is between 1 and 3.
