Genetic Polymorphism Involved in Pain Mechanism
摘要
Pain is ubiquitous and difficult to treat and similar approach to pain management in all patients may not be justified. With knowledge of Pharmacogenomics, clinicians can develop an individualized pain management strategy. The majority of genetic variation occurs at the level of enzymes involved in drug metabolism which leads to differences in pain perception and drug efficacy. Patient specific genome testing may offer a comprehensive and personalized treatment.
