The lung can be affected by a large variety of endocrine disorders. Disorders of the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal glands and the pancreatic islet cells are capable of impacting the lung in different ways. This chapter discusses the effect of impact of hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, acromegaly, hypoadrenalism, hypoadrenalism and diabetes mellitus upon the lung. It provides insight into the pathogenesis of the various pulmonary complications and provides an outline of the pulmonary conditions to look out for in specific endocrine disorders.
