Dyspnoea in the Obese Individual
摘要
Dyspnoea in obesity may have implications that are different from those in the non-obese patient. This chapter discusses the most likely causes of dyspnoea in obesity, elaborates on the differentiation of these entities, and explores the different pathophysiological mechanisms involved in their causation. Insights into the obesity paradox in respiratory disease and the nuances of interpretation of pulmonary function tests in obese individuals are also provided.
