The old age population is increasing in everywhere in the world, and falls of elderly people is also increasing. Any type of falls for elderly people can cause serious injuries, hospitalization, and medical costs. The fall detection method generally used sensors, image or video to capture the movement or fall of a person. Various machine learning algorithms like SVM, DT, and RF are useful in detection of fall. There are various performance issues like variability in data, environment, privacy which affect the detection result. The machine learning algorithms used in distinguish in between ADL and fall. The objective of this paper is review of various causes and available algorithms for the fall detect accurately.
