Role of Nanotechnology in Combating Climate Change
摘要
Nanotechnology nowadays is emerging as a solution for addressing climate change. By using the unique properties of nanoparticles (NPs), researchers have enhanced the productivity of renewable energy systems and remediation systems, as well as increased the crop yield in agriculture. Nanomaterials (NMs) such as MOFs, nanotubes, and perovskites have enhanced the system by increasing their properties such as absorption and adsorption, and in agriculture, nanofertilizers and nanopesticides have increased the yield and also promoted soil health. Nanosensors being employed for the monitoring of climate change could help in policymaking. Although nanotechnology has potential, it still has some limitations that need to be addressed to utilize its full potential. This chapter explores how nanotechnology is being applied and what are the challenges it faces.
