Approach to Devising a Strength Estimation Formula for Early-Age Strength Development of Precast Concrete

In recent years, precast concrete products have garnered significant attention for enhancing productivity by reducing construction times and labor requirements. Consequently, steam-curing processes have been implemented to facilitate early stripping. As demand for precast concrete products in the construction industry continues to rise, the ability to accurately estimate the optimal timing for demolding these products post-steam curing would significantly improve production efficiency. Various studies have been conducted to estimate the strength of concrete. When precast concrete undergoes steam curing, there can be a temperature difference of over twice as much between the interior and surface of the structure, which makes it likely that conventional strength estimation formulas may not provide an accurate strength assessment. However, there isn’t much research that focuses on this. This paper introduces prior research to develop a strength estimation model that can be effectively applied to the initial strength development of precast concrete in practical construction environments.
