Native to Southeast Asia, the Milky Stork (Mycteria cinerea) is an endangered species experiencing severe losses due to habitat loss, poaching, and environmental degradation. This review examines the ongoing conservation initiatives to preserve and increase Milky Stork populations in Southeast Asian nations. Essential tactics include community engagement projects, captive breeding and reintroduction programs, anti-poaching efforts, and habitat protection and restoration. Recent research has shed important light on population patterns, habitat utilization, and species’ ecological needs, emphasizing crucial areas that must be addressed. However, many questions still need to be answered, especially regarding long-term monitoring and including socioeconomic factors in conservation planning. Addressing these gaps is crucial for thriving effective, sustainable conservation programs. This study emphasizes the significance of comprehensive strategies that combine economic approaches with ecological research, international collaboration, and local community involvement to ensure the survival of the Milky Stork. To conclude, this review fills the gaps by acknowledging the conservation effort to increase the population of Milky Stork.
