Contrast Echocardiography, Tissue Doppler and Strain Imaging
摘要
This chapter illustrates advances in echocardiographic techniques that are clinically useful. The use of intravenous microbubbles as contrast agents to delineate the left ventricular wall borders, as well as to enhance the ultrasound images increase confidence in reporting, for example, left ventricular regional as well as global systolic function. Speckle-tracking imaging allows evaluation of subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction, and certain pattern recognition may allow identification of cardiomyopathies such as amyloid. Tissue Doppler imaging is now routinely employed and is useful in assessing both systolic and diastolic dysfunctions as well as left ventricular filling pressure.
