Performance Evaluation of Bottom Ash as a Potential Infill Material in Subgrade Improvement with the Use of Geocell in Sandy Soil
摘要
The use of geosynthetic materials has rapidly increased in the past few decades and has given importance to infrastructure development as it helps us gain the required results. Due to the increase in the population, land is scarce as per necessity, and wherever land is available, it is not in a good condition. For utilization of this type of soil, a proper treatment is required for building an infrastructure project. As we know, if the soil is weak, the foundation of the structure needs to be taken at more depth, which is expensive, and, in some conditions, landfilling is also required, which is not feasible every time. At this moment, the paper presents a detailed analysis of the geocells used as a geosynthetic material in the paper study for a particular paper. The paper will provide a detailed study of field tests performed with all the investigations on and off the field. The paper will also compare various geocell placement methods at the subgrade. Results have proven that geocells can be used in different configurations and combinations.
