Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of Garnet Phosphors with Various Lanthanide Dopants: A Review
摘要
An attempt has been made to review different lanthanide activators used in garnet-structured materials. We are focusing on variations in luminescent properties with dopants and applications in various fields of optics. We have studied YAG as a host with lanthanide dopants like Tb3+, Ce3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, etc. in our work. Especially, we are going along their electron transitions vary due to different dopants and effect on optical properties. The changes in optical properties give the view of the application of the materials. The synthesis methods are selected as per the needs and requirements of the usefulness of the materials and the properties of the garnet structured nanoparticle phosphors for LED. Structural determination by XRD and photoluminescence spectroscopy by photo spectrometer for excitation and emission wavelengths with different lanthanide dopants were carried out for final products. The researchers tried these materials to explore possible applications in the field of optical science for these phosphors. It reveals that when doped with Eu3+ in the garnet structured materials then the emission spectra got near ultraviolet and achieved the shifting to blue.
