Fabrication of PVC Membrane-Based Ion Selective Electrodes for the Identification and Measure of Cu(II)
摘要
A new poly (vinyl chloride) sensor using 1,3-bis(2,2’:4’,2''-bipyridyl-5-ylmethylsulfanyl) propane (C3S2bp2) as suitable ionophore has been fabricated and explored as Cu2+ selective sensor. The sensors based on C3S2bp2 with membrane composition of 3% ionophore (w/w) and 64% o-NPOE as plasticizer and 33% PVC, exhibits consistent linear response to Cu2+ ions in 1.0X10−6 M to 1.0X10−1 M concentration range. It has a slope and detection limit of 27.2 mV/decade and 7.0X10–7 mol l−1 respectively and rapid reaction time of < 10 s. The sensor can be utilised over no fewer than three months before varying its response characteristic. The response of the sensor persistent across the 3.0–8.0. pH range. It proved useful to determine Cu2+ in situ and can works as efficient indicator electrode in a potentiometric measurement of said ion.
