Fusion Strategies for Deep Learning Applications
摘要
This chapter examines fusion strategies aimed at enhancing deep learning applications, with a particular focus on medical image analysis. The rapid expansion of deep learning models has been propelled by advancements in computing infrastructure and the increased availability of datasets. The fusion of complementary information from single or multiple sensors enriches the learning space, thereby reducing redundancy and enhancing model performance. In the context of medical diagnosis, classification methods are pivotal in disease detection, prognosis, and treatment planning, often integrating data from multiple imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, and PET. The chapter categorizes fusion approaches into low-level, mid-level, and high-level, elucidating their roles in improving classification accuracy. Practical applications in radiology, oncology, and neurology underscore the potential of multimodal fusion to enhance decision-making and diagnostic precision. Various deep learning architectures and feature fusion strategies are analyzed, with an emphasis on techniques such as concatenation, attention modules, and hybrid approaches. Case studies demonstrate the successful implementation of these strategies in systems for cancer classification, brain tumor analysis, and skin lesion detection. Overall, the integration of multimodal data through advanced fusion techniques significantly augments the performance of deep learning models in medical diagnostics.
