Approaches in Teaching Using Video-Conferencing Systems: Empirical Investigation on Good Practices and Challenges
摘要
The current study investigated the good practices and challenges of using video-conferencing systems at an Arab university. Twenty-seven staff and students participated in the experiment and data were collected through interviews and focus groups. Findings identified students’ engagement, teachers’ charisma, lack of teaching skills and weakness in assessment methods as main challenges. Additionally, some of the good practices were presented by using various assessment methods and interactive learning tools. The results of this research can guide researchers and practitioners on how to emerge effectively videoconferencing systems in teaching and learning as well as students engagement.
