This chapter explains the necessity of researching Advanced Duplex technology from the perspective of driving factors, and provides an overview of key issues, main challenges, and applicable scenarios. For future high-power full-duplex cellular base stations, this chapter discusses the design criteria for joint self-interference cancellation and self-interference cancellation technologies in various domains, outlines network cross-interference and candidate mechanisms, and provides some reference viewpoints on interference cancellation schemes from an engineering practice perspective.
