The New Confucian community after the May Fourth Movement exhibits a diverse and multi-generational profile. They draw on various intellectual resources and face different social issues in China. However, as a social and cultural intellectual trend that has persisted for almost a century, New Confucianism maintains some fundamental and consistent positions and shares similar awareness of certain issues. In doing so, it continually interacts with various ideologies such as liberalism and Marxism, contributing to the development of intellectual discourse in China.
