After the Revolution of 1911 (Xin Hai Revolution), the Republican Government was established to the expectation of people, but the outcome of the foundation of a new country failed to meet people’s expectations towards national prosperity. External threats remained, and powerful countries from the West squeezed profits from China despite the nation’s establishment of a political system that modelled on the West.
