Basic Characteristics of Chinese Modernization of Rule of Law

In leading the Chinese people in their arduous and great social struggles, the CPC, by adhering to the integration of Marxist theory on the rule of law with China’s reality and excellent traditional Chinese legal culture, has pioneered a new path of the modernization of rule of law with distinctive Chinese characteristics, which are mainly reflected in six key aspects. The Chinese modernization of rule of law is rooted in the strengthening of the Party’s leadership as the fundamental political safeguard. Theoretical guide is provided by indigenous Chinese Rule of Law Philosophy, while the people-oriented development concept serves as its core value orientation. Strategically, it aims to build the rule of law in China characterized by good laws and good governance. The modernization process advances by adhering to comprehensive law-based governance. Moreover, the efforts of the CPC to promote the Chinese modernization of rule of law are intrinsically intertwined with the great changes in the global rule of law civilization.
