Network Analysis of Resource Mapping for Fire Emergency Case Study of Phrakhanong District, Bangkok Thailand

The objective of this study was to investigate the network analysis of fire emergency response resources in Phra Khanong District, Bangkok. By using spatial data such as the locations of fire emergency resources, building density, population density, and records of fire incidents from 2011 to 2021, an examination was conducted on the correlation among area-based factors, distance and travel time for fire response operations carried out by the district’s fire and rescue stations. Utilizing Geographic Information System, a network analysis was conducted using open data to develop a hexagonal cell map that identifies potential areas for effective fire response. The effective distribution of fire response resources greatly impacts the potential for successful fire suppression in Phra Khanong District, Bangkok. The analysis indicates that the distribution of resources in the northern, eastern, and western areas exhibits limited accessibility to achieve a standard travel time of 10 min to fire incidents. However, it is still necessary to consider factors such as distance from the fire station and water hydrant amidst traffic congestion. By developing a comprehensive fire response service system tailored to operations and covering the Phra Khanong area, both victims and residents will benefit from improved emergency services.
