Comparative Study on Reactive Magnesia Activated GGBS and GGBS Alone Stabilized Natural Soil
摘要
The current study aims to provide a better understanding of the application of GGBS in civil engineering to mitigate the issue of dumping and improve the deficiencies in soil engineering. An analysis is carried out to compare problematic soil stabilized using MgO-GGBS and GGBS. Three tests were used to determine the strength properties of the altered soil: the Compressive Strength Test (UCS), the Compaction Test, and the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) Test. The test was run at various curing times (0, 7, 14, and 28 days) to see how the strength of each mixture changed. According to the experiments, adding a mixture of MgO-GGBS to the soil enhanced its capacity to bind, and consequently, its strength characteristic.
