Assessment of Internet Use Opportunities for Different Socioeconomic Groups

With today’s rapid development of Internet technology and social networking, it is widely believed that socioeconomic status is still one of the main structural factors affecting people’s social lives. Groups distributed in different socioeconomic positions, such as university students and the elderly, have different opportunities to access the Internet and social networks in their daily lives. The Internet and social networks, as mediums of connectivity, provide these groups with various resources, thereby presenting them different combinations of opportunities and choices.
