This chapter focuses on the connection between young people and their parents. Combined with the results given in Chapter 9 , we see how social networks affect intergenerational relations and empowerment as important structures, and also how social structures, that is, the socioeconomic status of people and their parents, affect empowerment through social networks. The intersection and challenges of these two structures also form an important analytical framework for this book.
