Revolutionizing Healthcare with IoT: Exploring Applications, Benefits, and Challenges
摘要
Advancements in information and communication technology have led to the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), a revolutionary development that enables diverse devices to connect and communicate seamlessly with one another. By utilizing sensors and microprocessor chips, IoT facilitates the efficient exchange of data over the Internet. It was estimated that the number of Internet-connected devices would surpass 50 billion by 2020. In modern healthcare settings, IoT technology is increasingly employed for various applications, including remote patient monitoring, patient information management, telesurgery, and comprehensive healthcare administration. This integration of technology offers significant benefits, such as enhanced convenience and cost efficiency, for both medical professionals and patients. This paper investigates the integration of IoT in the healthcare industry, with a specific emphasis on Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) systems. It examines the benefits and drawbacks of these systems and provides a comprehensive assessment of the essential technologies required for their successful deployment and use. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of IoMT in advancing healthcare services.
