This chapter presents and discusses methods for conducting an explanatory sequential mixed methods study. Figure 3.1 presents visual representation of explanatory sequential mixed methods protocol. The first section will provide the rational and theoretical position of utilizing an explanatory sequential mixed method approach. The second section will describe the research design and the third section will present the rationale for data analysis implementation. This study adopted an explanatory sequential mixed methods study conducted in Doha, the capital city of Qatar which served as the location for the data gathering procedure, which took place during the months of December 2020 and March 2021. This is a subject that has not received enough research, and this approach adds greater understanding by merging both data and contextualized research questions. This will provide a rich understanding of the phenomena by explaining the findings from the quantitative approach (Bowen et al., 2017) and as a result, in the Quantitative phase, the primary and secondary aims of this study presented to evaluate the impact of various forms of domestic abuse actions on mental health issues in Qatari women by analysing the levels of anxiety, depression, and PTSD that these women experience.

摘要
