Energy and Exergy Performance of an Opaque Photovoltaic (PV/T) Air Collector Under Different Weather Conditions of Rajasthan (INDIA)

Economic growth of any country is driven by its sources of energy. Globalization and industrialization have led to depletion of non-renewable sources of energy with affect atmospheric condition. Photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) technology has potential to provided electrical and thermal energy concurrently without affect the environmental condition. In the present work, opaque PVT air collector having seven modules connected in series with triangular duct has been fabricated on the roof of Engineering College Bikaner, Rajasthan. This paper investigates performance of opaque PVT array on basis of energy and exergy for different season (winter, summer, and intermediate). The results depict that average electrical, thermal, exergy gain and thermal gain in summer season are higher 71.39, 84.92, 78.25, and 84.17% with respect to winter season. The overall energy gain in summer season is higher 83.82 and 34.72% with compared to winter and intermediate season.
