Design for Financial Independence in the Rural Sector for the Sustainable Development of Crafts and Craftsperson

The handloom weavers of Assam face many challenges that prevent them from enhancing their business skills. This study aims to understand the behavioral aspects of handloom weavers toward financial literacy and design support for financial literacy to make them realize the worth and value of their skills and help them explore new opportunities without hesitation. The methodology involves detailed interviews and direct observations to understand the weaver's experiences and behaviors. This data-driven analysis helped identify challenges, leading to solution proposals. This study led to the development of tangible design directions for financial literacy among weavers, fostering a business mindset. This generally addresses a few financial strategic approaches to help the weavers promote themselves as an individual entrepreneur by focusing on financial record-keeping and savings strategies, cost analysis, and product pricing strategies. The study aims to show the benefits of strategic planning and expanded operations, providing them with optimistic hope and encouraging weavers toward sustainable growth and development.
