As 2030 approaches, the imperative to make the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) a reality looms over our heads. Design practitioners and researchers in the decade of change are contributing to the solution of this wicked challenge in a variety of ways, including interventions. To examine the growing body of literature in the overlapped interaction of Product design, sustainability and the sustainable development domain, a comprehensive bibliographic analysis of 670 relevant articles listed in the Scopus index and published between 2015 and early 2024 using the most relevant keywords concerning product design, sustainability, and sustainable development was conducted using VOSviewer software. The finding points out the leading trends and growth in the field using network relationships of co-occurrence analysis, co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis, and bibliographic coupling. Apart from that, the results indicate the trends in the publication over the years, revealing the leading country in publication (i.e., the U.S.A.) with the most prominent source (i.e., the Journal of Cleaner Production) with the most significant affiliation (i.e., Penn State University and Oregon State University), and a list of leading authors was also identified. The bibliometric analysis of the current work offers a summary of the current state of research. It will provide a valuable and seminal reference for researchers and practitioners to decipher the emerging trends and perspectives in sustainability and product design research, ultimately contributing to sustainable development.
