SDG 4: Quality Education—Digital Platforms for Inclusive Learning
摘要
In today’s world, the predominant concern is to ensure quality education for all, as envisioned in Sustainable Development Goal 4. As the world of work is rapidly changing, the parameters of learning are transforming. This chapter focuses on technologies that are related to ensuring proper education, such as online education, electronic learning platforms, and virtual classrooms. In this context, inclusive learning has turned out to be an essential and relevant discussion in contemporary times. Inclusive learning, apart from ensuring accessibility, supports equity and recognizes the diverse learning needs of the learners. As the digital divide is narrowing due to an increase in the usage of digital devices and Internet access, the role of digital platforms has become an essential tool to ensure inclusive learning for all. This chapter probes potential digital platforms to ensure inclusive learning supporting quality education. It unfolds literature and considers digital tools, such as Massive Open Online Courses, mobile apps, and social media, as promising solutions for ensuring inclusive learning. In this backdrop, this chapter aims to (a) delineate the conceptual background of quality education and inclusive learning, (b) discuss the efficacy of some popular digital tools for achieving inclusive learning, (c) discuss the challenges in digital learning, and (d) suggest strategies essential for dealing with such challenges. The execution of this paper is problem based and argues for digital learning for achieving inclusive learning.
