This paper presents the design and development of a smart shopping trolley equipped with RFID technology to enable a streamlined, self-service billing system in retail settings. By leveraging RFID for automatic product identification and integration with an Arduino-based system, this innovative trolley reduces the time spent on traditional checkout processes, enhancing user convenience and operational efficiency. The system also includes a display that allows real-time tracking of items and costs, promoting better budget management. Results demonstrate that the RFID-enabled smart trolley not only minimizes checkout congestion but also offers a more personalized and efficient shopping experience, with potential applications for the future integration of AI and IoT to further enhance functionality.
