Threat analysis for any country is an important part for stopping any attempts by adversaries to disturb peace and security of the region. Indian borders are sensitive in nature due to terrorism from Pakistan, land grabbing tactics from China, refugee crisis from Bangladesh, and Myanmar. Indian borders have various terrains from deserts, swarms, mountains, and rivers making it hard altogether to have fenced border at all places. Hence, it is important to use multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods for threat analysis and making decisions to secure the borders. In this paper, threat analysis is done for optimal troop deployment using analytic hierarchy process method. By incorporating real-time intelligence feeds, data of troop movements, previous security incidents, weather, and terrain information, the AHP model can be enriched to account for a wider range of factors and enhance decision-making. The research identifies various border security challenges and explores a method the use of MCDM methods to analyse threats. The methods used consider various factors like potential intrusions, troop casualties and deployments, and unfenced border regions. By analysing the data, the research offers valuable insights for optimizing troop deployment, allowing for adjustments based on the calculated threat levels at different border locations.
