This research focuses on the complexities of attaining climate neutrality in South Asia. Organised using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic and Metta Analytics (PRISMA) model of integrated review approaches, the chapter synthesises the literature, case studies, and empirical data to ascertain areas in regions experiencing the effects of climate, challenges to advances, and possibilities. Research has indicated that disaster risks and losses remain high in the South Asia region due to climate change. In contrast, the region sharply continues to depend on fossil energy sources, hence emitting more carbon. However, it underlines potential development measures, including ramping up renewable energy, green urban development, and adopting critical technologies. The findings of this research point to the need for sound regional partnerships, sound policy environments, and the crucial involvement of many players to build the environment for a transition to climate neutrality. Finally, this chapter offers policy and practical implications to those stakeholders who want to ensure sustainable development for South Asia to counter increased vulnerability due to climate change.

摘要
