This study explores the connection between Agenda 2063 and the African Unions dedication to achieving peace and ensuring food security on the continent by addressing the issue of “Silence the Guns.“ Despite the AUs target to resolve conflicts in Africa by 2020; various challenges such as funding support; governance issues; and external interference in African disputes have hindered its progress, towards this objective. The research delves into the loop that disrupts the continent by demonstrating how lack of food leads to violence and how this violence then escalates conflict and worsens the issue of food insecurity. The study highlights the impact of turmoil and economic disparity, on exacerbating food shortages and escalating conflicts in regions like South Sudan and the Sahel area of Africa while examining approaches to farming and collaboration between nations to disrupt this cycle of challenges. The document concludes with suggestions for policy enhancements focusing on climate agriculture practices and governance improvements to bolster food security across the continent. Improving food systems is vital not for resolving disputes but for fostering enduring peace and progress, in Africa.
