This chapter provides insights on methodological pathways to social work research and practice. It attempts to show concepts, categories, and approaches located within the questions of “practice-based” knowledge. It explores, directly and indirectly, the conceptual interconnections between the social world, knowledge, and practice addressing critical questions in social work; what is the methodological assumption of research and practice? How do we locate methodologies of fields of practice? How is this knowledge related to the sites of practice?—experiential, local, contextual, and empowering. In doing so, the chapter deliberates, and suggests methodological concepts, categories, and perspectives—interdependent and interconnected, collectively constituting and providing “pathways,” actionable conceptual organizing categories in which research and practice in social work can be conceptualized and operationalized.

摘要
