This chapter engages with the reality of violence against women in conflict-affected regions. It argues that violence against women, particularly domestic violence (DV), persists as a pervasive form of gender violence, often concealed in the shadows of societal norms and conflict environments. In regions like Kashmir—the site of the study—addressing DV necessitates nuanced strategies that recognize the impact of conflict dynamics on women’s safety and well-being. Despite the prevalence of DV, a significant portion remains unreported, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive interventions. By situating domestic violence within the broader context of conflict and displacement, this chapter seeks to advance feminist/women-centered social work practice knowledge, and see how the Special Cell for Women contributes effective responses to gender-based violence in conflict-affected region.

摘要
