Our desire to have a comfortable life can be challenging for the environment. Removing hazardous pollutants we release seems to be a strenuous task. The strategy for utilizing resources in such a manner that they are available for both present and future generations can be understood by the concept of sustainability. The need of the hour is to have a sustainable environment for our present and future generations. It is of utmost urgency to encourage activities to achieve it. Bioremediation is a microbial approach to remove pollutants generated by industrialization, transportation, and overpopulation. The efficiency of bioremediation can be enhanced by administering advanced omics technologies such as proteomics, genomics, and metabolomics. This chapter focuses on these omics tools that provide cost-effective means to facilitate the removal of pollutants and to achieve environmental sustainability.
