Water scarcity and the presence of barren, infertile land in these arid areas present significant challenges for the germination and growth of agricultural crops. Elevated temperatures and sandy soil create favourable conditions for hosting both air-borne and soil-borne diseases. In the last two decades, a surge in air-borne diseases has been reported, particularly in cumin, which has faced losses as high as 80% due to Alternaria blight. Recently, the indiscriminate use of chemical fungicides has emerged as a substantial threat, not only to the environment but also to human health. The delicate ecological equilibrium is steadily diminishing. Therefore, the utilization of biological control agents is an urgent necessity.
