Unmasking Hidden Enemies: Management, Detection, and Diagnosis
摘要
Faced with the growing global challenges of airborne diseases, this chapter presents a comprehensive framework for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of such diseases. It explores invisible threats to agriculture, which are airborne diseases carried by microscopic creatures such as viruses, bacteria and fungi. It highlights the impact of these threats on crop productivity and economic pressures. The book chapter aims to unravel the mysteries of these avian enemies and guide readers through strategies to safeguard crops, including the use of hardy species and barriers. The usage of chemical pesticides and fertilizers in the twentieth century, as well as the necessity of developing new cultivars resistant to prevalent illnesses, are some of the issues surrounding the control of diseases in agriculture. It also explores the effects of pesticides on the ecosystem and offers substitute strategies, like using microbes for biological control and genetic pathways. Numerous countries have taken steps to curtail their use of pesticides, indicating an increasing consciousness regarding the consequences for the environment. It promotes more investigation into biological management techniques, especially the use of microbial inoculum as a powerful protection against plant diseases. It promotes a change to less environmentally damaging, sustainable agriculture. The Investigation explores the world of airborne illnesses that impact plants that produce food, especially in agriculture. It classifies diseases brought on by viruses, fungi, bacteria, and other living things, highlighting how they affect the quantity and quality of crops. In addition, the many kinds of infectious (biotic) and non-infectious (abiotic) diseases are covered, along with information on how they spread. Traditional approaches for illness detection and diagnosis, including DNA-based techniques, biophysical methods, isozyme analysis, ELISA, and immunofluorescence assays, are discussed. The significance of regulatory restrictions and weather monitoring as disease management tactics is emphasized. It delves deeper into treatment methods, such as the application of aromatic chemicals, crop variety resistance, and the removal of infected plant matter. It highlights the significance of early diagnosis and regular monitoring. Research on plant diseases that affect aircraft will likely take an interdisciplinary approach and benefit from technological developments in the future. Precision agriculture, genome sequencing, portable diagnostic devices, and advanced surveillance systems are expected to be crucial in the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. The use of machine learning for disease identification in precision agriculture is described in the section on new technologies. Suggested study fields include drones, satellite imagery, novel sensor technologies, and enhancing illness detection systems through machine learning and artificial intelligence. It provides a comprehensive overview of airborne diseases in agriculture, covering types, impacts, motivations, traditional methods, treatment techniques, future directions, emerging etc.
