Development and Fabrication of Semi-automatic Hand Stacker

This paper ‘Development and Fabrication of Semi-Automatic Stacker’ aims to develop an affordable and compact alternative to conventional stackers, suitable for both household and small-scale industrial applications. The key objective of this project is to create a semi-automatic stacker with reduced cost and size compared to existing models, while maintaining functionality. This design incorporated a lead screw mechanism to facilitate the up and down motion of the fork, with the nut rotating on the lead screw. Both the fork’s motion and the machine’s movement are driven by motors, ensuring efficient operation. Methodologically, the project commenced with a comprehensive literature survey to analyse existing stacker designs, followed by conceptualization and detailed calculations for motor and battery specifications. Additionally, the fork underwent testing to determine its maximum weight capacity, established at 50 kg. Following component selection, the design is fabricated into a prototype model. A limit switch to regulate fork movement within specified height limits.
